Lockdown 3.O Day 1: Long queue of tipplers witnessed in Lucknow

Lucknow, May 04: Model shops opened across the state from Monday following the order, to be opened in from 10 am to 7 pm during the lockdown period, of Principal Secretary Excise Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy.

However, sale of liquor has been allowed in standalone shops of all zones with considerable restrictions barring containment zones, markets and shopping malls.

As soon as the liquor shops opened in Lucknow, there was a long queue of customers. However, during this, it was witnessed that liquor shop owners were urging customers to maintain social distancing while purchasing alcohol.

In view of the gathering of tipplers outside the model shops, the police team reached the at liquor shops of their areas for maintaining of lockdown instructions. In the presence of policemen, queues were made from two sides, so that only two people could buy liquor at the shop window.

Expressing happiness over the decision of the government, the liquor shop owner Raju in Lucknow said that this is a fair decision as per the need of the day. People who are going to buy vegetables and ration for their house, in the same way, some people also want happiness for themselves by purchasing alcohol.
