Light rainfall predicted across Uttar Pradesh b/w Dec 30 to Jan 2

Kanpur, 28 December: Many types of cyclones are active in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal due to this, there is a high humidity across Uttar Pradesh causing dense fog and mist in the morning and evening.

The Meteorological Department said that Western Disturbance is going to be active over the Himalayas due to which light rains may be seen in most of the districts of Uttar Pradesh in the new year and severe cold will increase.

Dr SN Sunil Pandey, meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agricultural Technology, said on Thursday that a fresh western disturbance is going to come in the Western Himalayas between December 30 and January 2, which will cause light rain and snowfall. An induced cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh may cause unseasonal rain, which is likely to cause rain over East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and even parts of Chhattisgarh. There are chances of light rain in Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar between January 2 and 3.

Pandey told that the maximum temperature in Kanpur was recorded at 16.4 and the minimum temperature was 10.4 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity in the morning was 98 percent and the relative humidity in the afternoon was 77 percent. The direction of the winds was south-west with an average speed of 2.6 km per hour. According to the weather forecast, the sky is expected to be light to moderately cloudy in the next five days. There are chances of cold/dense fog in the morning and night.
