LDA to claim illegal colonies’s land in Lucknow

Lucknow, February 14: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has made preparations to lay claim to land on which illegal colonies have been mushroomed. LDA vice chairman (VC) Shivakant has instructed the officers to identify such colonies ย and put information boards there.

VC of Lucknow Development Authority, Shivakant Dwivedi said that information should be put up in the colonies which are being developed illegally in the Authority border area in Lucknow. These notice boards should clearly state that ‘this land belongs to the authority area and before purchasing the property, the approval of the layout must be checked.’

He said that action will be taken against the builders whose plots, buildings have been constructed on the land illegally in the past or is currently being developed under the section of the UP Town Planning and Development Act 1973. Also, no engineer should allow any kind of construction against land use in any case. Go among the public and make them aware too.

It is noteworthy that 345 colonies have been declared illegal by LDA in Master Plan 2031. Apart from this, there are more than three hundred illegal colonies, which are not named in Mahayoga. The city has illegally developed colonies in various areas including Sripuram, Ekatapuram, Yogi Nagar, Krishna Colony, Govindapuram, Mausam Bagh, Srinagar, Arju Nagar, Basant Nagar, Bharat Nagar, Nayak Nagar, Tulsipuram, Triveninagar, Sainik Bihar Colony.
