Lakhimpur Kheri, 03 October: Farmers created a big ruckus in Lakhimpur Kheri on Sunday ahead of the program of Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. Six farmers are also reported to have died in the ruckus and many are injured. The injured were sent to the Community Health Centre (CHC) for treatment. Some seriously injured have been admitted to the district hospital. The names of four people killed in the incident have been confirmed so far.

Meanwhile, the farmers have accused the son of the Union Minister of State for Home of the vehicles. Angry farmers have set ablaze the vehicles of the minister’s son. Angry farmers have also beaten up BJP leaders fiercely.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of this matter. Additional Director General (ADG) Law& Order Prashant Kumar, along with DG, IG Range, Lucknow Divisional Commissioner is also going to investigate the matter.

Four dead have been identified

Six people have been killed in this incident. Although no official statement has come so far regarding this, but four dead have been identified. Among those who died, Lovepreet Singh (25) son Satnam Singh resident of Chaukhra Farm Majhgai police station Palia, Daljit Singh (62) son Hari Singh, Gurwinder Singh alias Baba son Kaku Singh resident of police station Nanpara district Bahraich and Nakshatra Singh son unknown resident of Lahbri police station Dhaurhara are.

Apart from many farmers, four journalists have also been injured in this.

The farmers became agitated over the death of the people due to the vehicles being rammed on the farmers. In the meantime, they created a ruckus and took out BJP leaders from their vehicles and beat them fiercely and ransacked two of their vehicles. The anger of the farmers did not subside even on this, so they set some vehicles on fire. Here, as soon as the information about the ruckus was received, the police reached the spot and drove the farmers to the sugarcane field.

Village turned into a cantonment

There is a lot of resentment among the farmers after this incident. Police and district administration are engaged to control the deteriorating situation in the village. But the situation is not quite right now.

SP Vijay Dhool has deployed heavy force in the district. Apart from this, forces from adjoining districts have also been called in. PAC, RAF teams have left for the village.

Chief Minister Yogi cancelled all the programs

After the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday cancelled the Gorakhpur night stay program and is returning to Lucknow. He himself is monitoring the entire matter. On returning to Lucknow late in the evening, a high level meeting will be held regarding the incident.

An audio is going viral on social media regarding the Lakhimpur incident. In this audio, the youth shouting the slogan Jai Jawan Jai Kisan, it is being said that farmers should reach Tikuniya in large numbers. There is a call of Kisan Morcha that everyone should reach there. There is a barricade, break it and reach there.

Lucknow IG Laxmi Singh reached the hospital to take care of the injured. Here the information about the matter has been taken from the farmers. After that she has left for the spot.

It is also being told that the IG had also gone to the police station where all the staff have been reprimanded. Indications have also been given to take action against all police personnel including the police station in-charge.

Nearby districts were alerted

After this incident, the Police Headquarters has alerted Lakhimpur and its surrounding districts. District and police officers have been asked to increase patrolling and maintain law and order by holding meetings with peace committees. Police across the state is on alert.
