Kaushambi, 20 March: A petitioner in the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah case claims to have received a threat call requesting him to quit his plea. Police stated on Wednesday that an FIR was filed at Saini police station in Kaushambi district in response to a complaint filed by petitioner Ashutosh Pandey.

In his complaint, Pandey said that on Tuesday night, he received a phone call from someone claiming to be an operative of a terrorist organisation and threatening to blow him up if the matter was not dropped within three days.

Pandey stated that he received the threat call while travelling from Mathura to Prayagraj to plead the case. He said that the individual making the threat call disrespected the prime minister and Hindu deities.

Sirathu Circle Officer Awadhesh Kumar Vishwakarma stated that Ashutosh Pandey, president of the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Mukti Nirman Trust in Mathura, submitted a complaint at 12.10 a.m. on Wednesday. A case has been lodged under sections 504 (insult with intent to incite breach of peace) and 507 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code, and the cellphone number is being located, according to the official. Police are also investigating the situation.
