Kheri, Lucknow, Ghaziabad reeling under fire incidents; SDM Inspects damage in Kamp Tanda village in Kheri

Lakhimpur Kheri, April 19: A massive fire broke out on Sunday afternoon in Kamp Tanda village under the Mailani police station area of Bijua development block in Lakhimpur Kheri, engulfing a large portion of the settlement; while extensive damage was caused, authorities confirmed that fortunately no loss of life was reported.

Upon receiving information about the fire, Sub-Inspector Himanshu rushed to the scene with police force, and while the fire brigade took time to reach the remote village nearly 35 kilometers from the police station headquarters, villagers had already begun dousing the flames themselves; after hours of joint effort by firefighters and locals, the blaze was finally brought under control.

The station house officer of Mailani police station Brijesh Maurya reached at the scene and took charge of relief operations.

As per the information, The homes of 40 people, including Sumer Singh, Devendra Kumar, Nand Kishore, Ram Asare, Vikas, Jai Prakash, Durga Singh, Kuldeep, Malkhan, Ajay Kumar, Ladle, Roma Devi, Pankaj, Dharmendra, Shravan, Shiv Kumar, Thakur, Surendra, Chhote, Dharampal, Agamveer, Ved Prakash, Subhash, Mansha Ram, Mangal Ram, Akhilesh, Rudra Pal, Rishi Pal, Veer Pal, Jagpal, Khushi Ram, Raja Ram, Son Pal, Morti, Sadhu Singh, Ajay, Vicky, Ram Kishore, and Ravi, were completely burned.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the sub divisional magistrate (SDM) Palia promptly reached the site, met with the affected families, and instructed the revenue team to conduct a precise damage assessment and submit a report to ensure swift compensation from the Disaster Relief Fund.

Currently, the affected families are facing a food crisis and a roof over their heads. The administration has immediately initiated the process of providing rations and tarpaulins to the victims.

The exact cause of the fire is not yet clear, but it is suspected that a spark from the stove, caused by strong winds, or a short circuit may have caused the accident. Currently, peace prevails at the scene, and the affected families are busy managing their devastated households.
