Bengaluru,19 August: The more than three weeks old lone member cabinet of Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa is now being slated to be expanded tomorrow. BS Yediyurappa made this announcement here this morning.

According to BS Yediyurappa: The cabinet expansion will take place tomorrow in the glasshouse of Raj Bhavan between 10.30 to 11.30 am and the Governor has been intimated in this regard while the chief secretary has been instructed to do the necessary arrangements.

It may be recollected here that BS Yediyurappa was sworn in as chief minister of the state for the fourth time on the evening of 26 July. However, he remained as the lone minister of his cabinet till date for not being able to get the nod of Amit Shah, party president and Union Home Minister.

In fact, BS Yediyurappa, on his part made several attempts to get a go-ahead of the party’s top brass for cabinet expansion. But all such efforts didn’t materialise due to the demise of Ms Sushma Swaraj, former Union External Affairs Minister and followed by flood havoc in many regions of the state.

During his multiple visits to the capital, he was advised to rush to reach out the flood victims immediately and was dissuaded from thoughts of forming the cabinet.

Now, finally, the desks appeared to have been cleared for the cabinet expansion exercise and the D day has arrived for tomorrow.
