Lucknow 19 December: The 21st convocation of King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in the state capital will be held on Saturday.
Union Health and Family Welfare and Chemical Fertilizers Minister JP Nadda will participate in it. The program will be presided over by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel. State Health Minister Brajesh Pathak and Minister of State Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh will be present as special guests in the function.
In a press conference held at the KGMU on Friday regarding the convocation, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Sonia Nityanand said that in the function, Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, Dr. Ajay Sood will be given the honorary degree of DSC.
She said that 2441 degrees will be awarded in this function. Whereas a total of 81 medals will be given. In which 33 medals will be given to boys and 48 medals to girls.
The Vice Chancellor told that this time in the ceremony, Tanushree will be awarded a book prize along with a total of 6 gold and 2 silver medals including the institute’s prestigious medal Hewett Gold Medal. Whereas Mayank Rastogi will be given a total of 5 medals and a certificate including the Chancellor Medal. Similarly, Shivangi Singh in BDS will be awarded a total of 6 medals and 2 certificates including the KGMU Gold Medal. Media in-charge Prof. KK Singh told that this time 9 faculty members will also be honored.
