Lucknow, June 16: Vijay Yadav, the suspected culprit in the June 7 murder of criminal Sanjeev Maheshwari Jeeva in a Lucknow courtroom, may be subjected to a Narco test if he continues to elude the police team questioning him.

The Lucknow police, who obtained a three-day police detention of Vijay Yadav from the CJM court on June 15, interrogated him for hours, but Vijay continued to deceive the authorities regarding the murder’s mastermind.

An Assistant Commissioner of Police and an Additional DCP rank officer questioned him, while another team questioned him late Thursday night. “He’s not giving clear answers, and we’ll have to put him through a Narco test to figure out what led to the murder.”

When it comes to providing information to authorities, Vijay Yadav is acting like three assailants of Atiq and Ashraf Ahmad, according to a senior police official. Police are expected to take the accused to the hotel where he slept and the location where he obtained the lawyer’s coat.

According to officials, Vijay Yadav was questioned about his complete past, how long he has been operating the contract killing business, and his movements in the days preceding the murder, but he did not provide substantial answers to any of the queries.

He has also avoided discussing the identities of other members of his team who were purportedly present in court during the murder as a backup plan. Another senior official stated that they were checking the hotel where the accused worked through their counterparts in Nepal.

On June 7, Vijay Yadav opened fire on Sanjeev Maheshwari Jeeva, who was taken to the courtroom for a hearing.
