IVRI’s 136 years of ‘sadhana’ is an inspiration for the entire country: CM Yogi

Bareilly, June 30: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday praised the researchers at the 11th convocation of the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) in Bareilly and said that the 136 years of ‘sadhana’ (devotion) of the institute is an inspiration for the whole country. Scientists like you become the voice of the voiceless souls which the world cannot hear. The research and service of all of you gives a new direction to the society.

President Draupadi Murmu and Governor Anandiben Patel were present as chief guests in the program. In the convocation, the President distributed 24 medals and 576 graduation degrees to the meritorious students.

Describing Bareilly as a mythological and spiritual city of India, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that this region was famous as ‘Panchal Desh’ in ancient times and a series of seven ancient temples of Devadidev Mahadev is being developed as ‘Nath Corridor’ here. Baba Alakhnath, Vankhandi Nath, Trivati โ€‹โ€‹Nath, Tapeshwar Nath, Madhinath, Dhopeshwar Nath and Shri Pashupati Nath temples are the identity of Bareilly.

He said that while the series of temples gives spiritual identity to this city, IVRI has given it a modern scientific identity.

Chief Minister Yogi praised the institute and said that IVRI has become a center of life-saving service not only for livestock but for every living being. He informed that during the Corona epidemic, when RTPCR test remained a challenge, IVRI, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh government, conducted more than 2 lakh COVID tests. Yogi said that the commitment of IVRI shows that its role is not limited to veterinary medicine, but it has also been a pioneer in saving human lives.

CM Yogi also discussed in detail about Lumpy Skin Disease and told how during the second wave of this disease, when the cattle were badly affected, the vaccine developed by IVRI played an important role in freeing Uttar Pradesh from the infection.

He said that the infection had spread in our Gaushala in Gorakhpur as well, but when the scientists talked about giving the trial vaccine, permission was obtained by talking to the then Union Minister Purushottam Rupala and Lumpy was completely eradicated in the state with the vaccine made by IVRI.

Chief Minister thanked the scientists wholeheartedly for their service to the speechless creatures and said that their discoveries have brought revolutionary changes in the lives of farmers. You have empowered the ‘Annadata’ by giving advanced breed of livestock. This 136 years of sadhana of IVRI is an inspiration for the whole country.

Addressing the students receiving degrees at the convocation, Yogi said that today is a new chapter in your life. This is not just a degree, but an oath to dedicate your service to the society. This journey of yours will be decisive in building the future of the nation.

On this occasion, Union Agriculture, Farmer Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Bhagirath Chaudhary, along with many officials and public representatives, dignitaries associated with the university administration and students were present.
