Internet services in seven districts of Haryana terminated till February 3

Chandigarh, 02 February: The Haryana government extended the termination of internet services (2G / 3G / 4G / CDMA / GPRS), SMS services (Black SMS only) and mobile networks in seven districts Kaithal, Panipat, Jind, Rohtak, Charkhi Dadri, Sonipat and Jhajjar except for voice calls.

The termination of closing of all dongle services has been extended till February 3, 2021 till 5 pm.

Giving information in this regard on Tuesday, the official spokesman said that orders have been rendered to stop Internet services under Rule 2 of the Telecom Temporary Service Suspension (Public Emergency or Public Safety) Rules, 2017. All the telecom companies of Haryana including BSNL (Haryana jurisdiction) have been directed to ensure compliance of this order.

โ€œThese orders have been issued to maintain peace in the area and to prevent any disturbances in public order. Any person found guilty of violation of these orders will be liable for legal action under the relevant provisions,โ€ Spokesman told.  

The spokesperson said that the state government has decided to discontinue internet services to prevent the spread of propaganda and rumours through various social media platforms such as SMS, WhatsApp, Facebook Twitter etc.
