New Delhi/Dinajpur, 18 September: More than two hundred muftis across the country have termed the income earned from dancing, singing and unnecessary photographs etc. through various platforms of social media as illegitimate and haram.

A resolution to this effect was passed in the 18th Fiqhi conference of ‘Idara al-Mubahis al-Fiqhiya’ organized under Jamiat-Ulema-Hind in Dinajpur, West Bengal.

A large number of muftis and Muslim scholars including Maulana Abul Qasim Nomani, the head of Darul Uloom Deoband, Maulana Mahmood Madani, president of Jamiat Ulama Hind, have participated in this three-day conference, which aims to guide the lifestyle of Indian Muslims in the light of Islamic Shariat.

In the conference, concern has been expressed over the increasing trend of earning income through unnecessary dancing, singing and photographs etc. Sadness was expressed in the meeting that nowadays especially the youth in our society are earning money by posting dance, songs and similar videos, photos etc. on various social media platforms. This is completely illegitimate and haram. We should avoid such things. One should not take any interest in such things and should stay away from it. It should also not be used as a source of income. Haram and Halal earnings were discussed in detail in the meeting.

It was told in the meeting that money gained through bribery, theft, gambling, betting etc. is haram. This kind of earnings should not be kept with yourself. If it is not possible to return it to its rightful owner, then this property should be distributed among the poor. If such goods have been inherited and its owner is known, then it is necessary for the goods to reach its owner. If the owner is not known and identification is not possible, then such goods should also be distributed among the poor.

It was told in the meeting that if a person has both haram and halal income and he is spending halal goods instead of haram goods and giving feast etc., then his feast should be accepted and his gifts etc. should be accepted. , but if it is known that he is offering haram goods, then it would not be permissible to take it.

Some things also came up in the meeting regarding joint sacrifice of animals, in which it was said that in today’s situation, there is a need for joint sacrifice.

Therefore, it is the responsibility of the individuals and organizations who arrange sacrifice on behalf of others to consider this process as worship and perform it with complete sincerity.

It says that a Muslim should offer his sacrifice on his own, this is more correct, but if for some reason he has to participate in a joint sacrifice, then it is justified.
