Lucknow, January 21: Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused the opposition of spreading lies about CAA during  a rally here in Lucknow in support of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA).

He said that we are not afraid of protest. We were born and brought up in protest. CAA will not be revoked at any cost. He was addressing the gathering today at Katha Park located in Bangla Bazaar in the capital.

Home Minister Shah said that the anti-CAA parties are spreading propaganda and confusion among people. That is why the BJP is running ‘Jan Jagran Abhiyan’, which is a campaign of mass awakening against those who break the country. Narendra Modi has brought the CAA. Rahul and Company, Mamta Banerjee, Akhilesh, Mayawati, Kejriwal are all spreading misperceptions against this bill. Lies is being spread against the CAA in the country, riots are being organized.

He said that the lie of the taking away the citizenship of minorities through CAA is being spread. He challenged the opposition to discuss this issue. “If there is a provision of losing citizenship of any person through CAA, then prove it. The opposition is spreading lies about the CAA to do its politics,” Shah said.

Attacking the opponents over CAA, Shah said that he has introduced this bill in the Lok Sabha. I want to tell the opposition that you should discuss this bill publicly. If you can take citizenship of any person, then prove it and show it.

He said that when the country was liberated, due to the sin of the Congress, Mother India divided into two pieces on the basis of religion. On July 16, 1947, the Congress Party passed the resolution and accepted partition on the basis of religion.

“The Congress worked to divide the country on the basis of religion. Minorities living in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh were tortured there, their religious places are destroyed there. Those people have come to India from there. This is the bill to give citizenship to such refugees. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the oppressed people the opportunity to start a new chapter in their lives over the years.” Minister said.

We will not be partner in crime with Congress, SP and opposition: Yogi Adityanath

Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that today Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are taking big decisions in the interest of the country. There is a desperate attempt to stop this. Every citizen of India stands firmly with Modi and Shah.

Within the country, Congress and SP and others work to speak the language of the enemy. In Mahabharat,  Draupadi had asked the question of who was guilty to the knowledgable persons in a packed meeting but only then Vidur had held responsible to those who remained silent. We will not be part of this sin of Congress, SP and Opposition. We will become partners in Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat. We cannot remain silent even at the scene of ‘Cheer Haran’. We stand with Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to make the country super power in front of the world in support of CAA.

Accusing  the Congress party , Yogi said “Various Congress governments in the past had an opportunity to being citizenship law but they did not work in the interest of the country. For the first time in the country, the government is working against terrorism, discrimination.”

“Modi Hai To Mumkeen Hai slogan was given. Therefore, steps have been taken with a strong will power to form a government under his leadership for the second time. This work should have been done only after 1947.” Yogi stated.

He praised the Modi government’s decision on abolishing Article 370, triple talaq, paving the way for construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and CAA.

Yogi Adityanath said that but there was no such glimmer in previous governments. Today, opposition parties including Congress, SP are opposing CAA. It is a law to give citizenship, not to take. It is said that efforts are being made to mislead people by organizing a dharna by paying money. There are no legs of lies. Truth will always be truth and will stand the test. The Chief Minister concluded his speech with Jai-Jai Shri Ram.
