If electricity consumers face problems, strict action will be taken against the officials: Shrikant Sharma

Lucknow, 02 February: The Uttar Pradesh Power and Additional Energy Sources Minister Shrikant Sharma has warned that if consumers face any kind of problems regarding electricity, strict action will be taken by fixing the accountability of the officials.

Shrikant Sharma tweeted on Tuesday that the Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) should ensure that all the electricity consumers of the state get electricity bills on time. Also, it should be ensured that the #probe billing of all consumers is 100 percent.

He pointed out that UPPCL Chairman should take punitive action as soon as possible on the negligent DISCOMS. If there is any laxity shown in the services of the consumers then it will not be acceptable at all.

The Power Minister said in another tweet that if consumers are harassed then it will not be accepted at all. The government of Uttar Pradesh belongs to the electricity consumers and works for them only.

He has also asked Principal Secretary (Power) for continuous monitoring of consumer services. It has also said that if there is any irregularity in the services of consumers, then strict action should be taken in their accountability.
