Heavy rainfall in south-eastern UP forecasted in the next 24 hrs

Prayagraj, July 17: Possibility of light to moderate rainfall with sudden strong winds and thundershowers have been predicted in south-eastern Uttar Pradesh during the next 24 hours.

Along with this, according to the weather department’s forecast, lightning is also expected at some places. Meanwhile, downpour has been forecasted in 10 districts including Prayagraj.

Senior Meteorologist of Uttar Pradesh Meteorological Department, Atul Kumar Singh said that according to the weather forecast in the state, in the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Bhadohi, Jaunpur, Ballia, Pratapgarh, Chitrakoot, Varanasi, Ghazipur, Ballia, Mahoba, Banda, Fatehpur, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Rae Bareli, Kanpur Nagar, Lalitpur, Jhansi, Etawah, Mainpuri, Azamgarh, Mau, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Deoria, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Basti, Kanpur Dehat, Unnao, Auraiya, Lucknow, Kannauj, Hardoi, Furrukhabad, Sitapur, Bahraich, Gonda, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Balrampur, Shravasti.

The Ganga and the Yamuna rivers are in spate in Prayagraj. However, the water level has decreased marginally in the last 24 hours. In the last 24 hours, the water level of Ganga has decreased by 31 cm in Phaphamau and 45 cm in Chhatnag. The water level of Yamuna has decreased by 57 cm in Naini. On Thursday at 8 am, the water level of Ganga was recorded at 81.54 meters in Phaphamau and 80.46 meters in Chhatnag at 8 am. The water level of Yamuna was recorded at 81.00 meters in Naini at 8 am. Both the rivers are flowing 4 meters below the danger mark. The danger level of Ganga and Yamuna at Sangam is 84.73 meters
