Audiences had high expectations from the new releases at the box office this week, but the results have proved disappointing. Aamir Khan production’s ‘Happy Patel’ and Varun Sharma-Pulkit Samrat starrer ‘Rahu Ketu’ failed to fetch audiences to theatres. Surprisingly, Ranveer Singh’s film ‘Dhurandhar’, released 44 days ago, is performing much better than these new films and is still holding strong.
‘Happy Patel’ and ‘Rahu Ketu’ Box Office Report
Vir Das starrer ‘Happy Patel’ opened with ₹1.25 crore on its first day. The film’s earnings didn’t see much of a jump on the second day either, earning only ₹1.50 crore. The film’s total earnings in two days were only ₹2.75 crore. On the other hand, “Rahu Ketu” earned approximately ₹1.60 crore on Saturday, taking its total collection to ₹2.60 crore.
“Dhurandhar” Box Office Report:
Contrary to the weak performance of new films, Ranveer Singh’s “Dhurandhar” has emerged as a true winner at the box office. Even after 44 days of release, the film continues to dominate. While new releases are struggling to earn ₹1 crore, “Dhurandhar” grossed approximately ₹3 crore on Saturday, its 44th day. So far, the film has grossed a staggering ₹821 crore in India.
“The Raja Saab” Box Office Report:
Prabhas’s much-hyped film “The Raja Saab” continues its struggle. Despite a massive budget and extensive promotions, the film’s pace is steadily slowing. On the ninth day, the film earned only ₹3 crore, bringing its total collection to ₹136.75 crore. Made with a budget of approximately ₹400 crore, this film is now finding it extremely difficult to recover its making costs.
