HAL signs contract with Mauritius for Advanced Light helicopters

New Delhi, 19 January: The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has signed a contract with the Mauritius for the export of an Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH Mk-III). The Government of Mauritius already operates HAL manufactured ALH and Do-228 aircraft.

With this agreement, the HAL and the Government of Mauritius have further strengthened their three-decade-long business relationship.

The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has signed a contract with the Mauritius government to export an Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH Mk-III) for the police force of Mauritius, an official statement said on Wednesday.

The Government of Mauritius already operates HAL manufactured ALH and Do-228 aircraft. With this agreement, HAL and the Government of Mauritius have further strengthened the long-standing business relationship of over three decades, a HAL statement said.

The contract was recently signed between HAL and senior officials of the Government of Mauritius at the company’s Transport Aircraft Division, Kanpur, the statement said. The supplied helicopter will be used by the Mauritian police force. The ALH Mk-III is a multi-role, multi-mission versatile helicopter in the 5.5 ton class. It has proved its mettle in various roles including several life saving missions during natural calamities in India and abroad. More than 3, 40,000 ALH have been produced so far.
