Varanasi, 2 Nov: A Varanasi court on Thursday granted the ASI an extension till November 17 to complete a scientific examination of the Gyanvapi mosque complex and submit its findings.

District Judge A K Vishvesh issued the ruling after accepting the request of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), according to Central government lawyer Amit Srivastava.

The court was informed that the ASI had concluded its survey, but it may take some time to compile the report together with the specifics of the equipment used in the survey operation, and Srivastava asked more time.

On October 5, the court gave the ASI four additional weeks and stated that the survey’s duration would not be prolonged.
