Girl murdered by throat-slitting in Lucknow

Lucknow, November 23: A girl student was murdered by entering a home in broad daylight on Sunday afternoon in the Mohanlalganj police station area of โ€‹โ€‹Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Police arrived at the scene after receiving information and sent the body for post-mortem and have begun investigating the case, said police.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Nipun Agarwal told reporters that a young man entered a home in Dharmavat Kheda, Mohanlalganj, on Sunday afternoon and slit the throat of student Priyanshi (18) with a sharp weapon. After committing the crime, the accused walked towards the road and then fled on his bike. Police arrived at the scene after receiving information and, after investigation, sent the body for post-mortem.

The DCP (South) said that during the investigation, it was found that Priyanshi was alone in the room at the time of the incident, while her younger sister was on the terrace. The girl’s mother had gone out for some work. Hearing the screams, people nearby rushed to the spot. Locals informed the police about the incident. They say the accused used to visit the deceased girl’s home. Police are probing all angles.
