Hardoi, April 29: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday, during the inauguration of the country’s longest expressway, the Ganga Expressway, said that the foundation stone laid by the Prime Minister in December 2021 has now come to fruition. This 594-kilometer-long expressway will prove to be a major vehicle for the progress of farmers, employment for youth, preservation of faith and culture, and prosperity of Uttar Pradesh.

Chief Minister Yogi said that this modern infrastructure, stretching from Meerut to Prayagraj, has been shaped by the contributions of more than 100,000 farmers from 12 districts. Integrated industrial clusters and logistics hubs are being developed at 27 locations along the expressway, which will not only accelerate transportation but also open doors to new investment and employment. This expressway, a symbol of the vision of the double-engine government, is taking Uttar Pradesh to new heights. The Chief Minister emphasized that the double-engine government is committed to ensuring the inauguration of every project for which the foundation stone is laid.

Yog stated that today, as the country witnesses the realization of the vision of a “New India,” the modern infrastructure being developed in “New Uttar Pradesh” is not only facilitating transportation but also propelling the economy to new heights. This transformation is the result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision being realized with clear policy, clear intentions, and effective implementation. Before 2017, the state was gripped by an environment of nepotism, casteism, riots, anarchy, curfews, and mafia rule, making development, employment, and investment difficult to imagine.

He said that however, over the past nine years, thanks to the efforts of the double-engine government, Uttar Pradesh has developed a vast network of approximately four lakh kilometers of expressways, highways, district roads, and rural roads. Additionally, strengthening interstate connectivity, every district headquarters has been successfully connected with four-lane roads, and each block and tehsil headquarters with four-lane and two-lane roads.

Chief Minister stated that by inaugurating the country’s first rapid rail between Delhi and Meerut, the Prime Minister has achieved a historic milestone in bridging distances. Efforts to advance Uttar Pradesh’s immense potential are now clearly visible on the ground in the form of expressways, rapid rail, inland waterways, metro, and dedicated freight corridors, a testament to the power of the double-engine government. The expressways being developed in the state are not limited to reducing distances alone; they are also linked to major industrial projects like the Defense Manufacturing Corridor. This is why these expressways are emerging as powerful vehicles for the progress of farmers, employment for youth, preservation of faith and culture, and overall prosperity of the state.

Chief Minister stated that integrated industrial clusters and logistics hubs are being developed at 27 locations along the Ganga Expressway. This will open new doors for investment and employment in the state. Approximately 18,000 acres of land has been acquired from farmers for the construction of the expressway. Approximately 7,000 acres of additional land has been acquired for the industrial clusters and logistics hubs to be developed along its banks. More than 100,000 farmers in 12 districts have made significant contributions to the success of this project by providing land. I express my gratitude to them for this.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the much-anticipated Ganga Expressway by pressing a button. Upon reaching the venue, the Prime Minister first planted a sapling and then visited an exhibition organized by the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA). This exhibition showcases the Ganga Expressway and the expressway network in the state in detail. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present on this occasion. During the public meeting, the Chief Minister also presented a symbolic statue of Mother Ganga to the Prime Minister.
