Lucknow, April 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated the state’s longest Ganga Expressway in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh.

Prime Minister Modi said that just as Mother Ganga has been the lifeline of Uttar Pradesh and the country for thousands of years, in this era of modern progress, this Ganga Expressway passing near it will become a new lifeline for the state’s development.

Addressing the gathering at the inauguration of the Ganga Expressway, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that it is a coincidence that I have been in the company of Mother Ganga for the last four-five days. I visited Kashi this morning and now I have the opportunity to inaugurate this expressway named after Mother Ganga. I am delighted that the Uttar Pradesh government has named this expressway after Mother Ganga. It reflects a vision of development and a glimpse of heritage. I congratulate the millions of people of Uttar Pradesh on the Ganga Expressway.

Prime Minister said that today is an important day in the celebration of democracy. The second phase of voting is underway in Bengal. Reports indicate a strong voter turnout in Bengal. As in the first phase, people are leaving their homes in large numbers to vote. Images of long queues are circulating on social media. What hasn’t happened in the last five or six decades is happening today. People are voting without fear. This is a virtuous symbol of the country’s Constitution and the country’s strengthening democracy. I express my gratitude to the people of Bengal. There are still several hours left for voting. I appeal to the people of Bengal to participate in this festival of democracy with the same enthusiasm.

He said that some time ago, when elections were held in Bihar, the BJP-NDA created history. Just yesterday, the results of the civic and panchayat elections in Gujarat were announced. You will be pleased to know that the BJP has won 80% of the civic and panchayat elections. During Modi’s speech, a large crowd chanted “Modi, Modi!” Modi said, “I am confident that the BJP is going to score a hat-trick in the assembly elections in these five states. The election results on May 4th will strengthen the resolve for a developed India and inject new energy into the country’s development.”

Prime Minister said that for the country’s development, we must rapidly build infrastructure. In December 2021, I came to Shahjahanpur to lay the foundation stone for the Ganga Expressway. Less than five years have passed. This Ganga Expressway, considered one of the country’s longest expressways, is now complete. Today, it is being inaugurated in Hardoi. Furthermore, while the construction of the Ganga Expressway has been completed, work on its expansion has also begun. Soon, the Ganga Expressway will extend from Meerut to Haridwar. This is the work of the double-engine government.” This is the vision and way of working of the BJP government.

Modi said that a few days ago, he had the opportunity to inaugurate the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. He had said then that these expressways are the handprints of a developed India. Gone are the days when one had to wait decades for a road. The foundation stone would be laid, and the foundation stone would be laid for elections. Governments would come and go, and then the project would remain buried in files. Today, under the double-engine government, the foundation stone is laid and the inauguration also takes place. The land in the areas through which this expressway passes is a bounty, but previous governments did not act. There was a lack of cold storage facilities, and there was no access to major markets. Farmers were deprived of many opportunities.

Modi said that now farmers will be able to transport their products to larger markets. Industrial corridors are being developed. New industrial opportunities will arise in all 12 districts. Improved connectivity will open new avenues for local industries. This will increase the income of millions of families. Could anyone have imagined an industrial corridor in districts like Hardoi and Unnao under previous governments? Uttar Pradesh was once considered backward. Today, it is rapidly moving towards a trillion-dollar economy. Work has been underway for the past few years toward this vision. Thousands of crores of rupees are now being invested in Uttar Pradesh.

Prime Minister said that half of all mobile phones manufactured in India are manufactured in Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh’s industrial development is becoming a strategic power. Missiles like the BrahMos are being manufactured in Uttar Pradesh. MSME units are now tasked with manufacturing defense equipment. There used to be no roads, but now there’s a network of expressways. Previously, traveling to neighboring districts was difficult. Airports are being built.

He said that films used to be made on UP’s mafias. Today, law and order is cited as an example. The Samajwadi Party (SP) doesn’t like this development. The Samajwadi Party (SP) is not only anti-development but also anti-women. They opposed an amendment bill for women’s reservations in Parliament. They will always practice anti-women politics. They are against development.

Present on the occasion were Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister of State for Finance and Uttar Pradesh BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary, Union Minister of State Jitin Prasada, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, Ministers Suresh Khanna, Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, Asim Arun, and other dignitaries.
