G20 Summit: The color of the country’s diversity to be reflected in the ‘Bharat Mandapam’, guests will be introduced to the unique craftsmanship of 75 districts

New Delhi, 9 September: A craft market representing mini India has been decorated in Bharat Mandapam. For the foreign guests, it is like a mini India where unique artefacts of 75 districts have been displayed under the One District One Product GI tag.

Craftsmen from every corner of the country are participating in this unique market decorated in hall number three.

Foreign guests can find here carpets of Kashmir, Phulkari of Punjab, Madhubani paintings, bamboo products of Maharashtra, tea of Assam, paintings of Thanjavur, items made of wood and bamboo of north-eastern states, handlooms, items made of clay, dyeing and printing all in one place. Will be able to see under the roof.

This hall is a symbol of unity in diversity and offers a glimpse of Indian traditional art and culture.

Foreign guests will not only be introduced to the intricacies of these artefacts and art but will also be able to make digital purchases. Their purchases will be made through UPI.

Along with purchasing clothes, jewellery, handicraft items, utensils, decorative items, paintings, tea, one can also see them being made in the craft market. You will see artists making Madhubani paintings in Bihar crafts stall.

A selfie stand has also been made here for the guests where they can also take selfies.

Set up in Hall 3, the ‘Crafts Bazaar’ also has stalls of central and regional agencies including the Khadi and Village Industries Commission and TRIFED. Muktesh K, Special Secretary in the G-20 Secretariat of the Ministry of External Affairs.

Pardeshi told reporters that through this exhibition-cum-sale, we are enhancing the market potential of each product, which will be displayed by the states and union territories. The craft market brings together the best handicrafts from India under one roof and artists will be able to showcase their art live.
