G20: POTUS directly reaches PM Modi’s residence, bilateral talks begins

New Delhi, 08 September: US Prime Minister Joe Biden, who arrived in New Delhi to participate in the G-20 summit, was formally welcomed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with US President Joe Biden on Friday at his residence (7, Lok Kalyan Marg). During this, both the leaders discussed various issues.

Giving information about the meeting, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in an X Post that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Joe Biden held talks in New Delhi. Their discussions covered a wide range of issues and will further deepen relations between India and the US.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden reached India on Friday for the G20 summit. During the G-20, he will interact with other leaders on issues facing the world’s major economies. During the visit, Biden will hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is his first visit to India as US President.

Upon arrival in India, the US President was welcomed at the airport by General (Retd) VK Singh, Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways and Civil Aviation. US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti was also present at Incent Airport with his daughter. President Biden spoke with Garcetti. The US President also had a brief conversation with the Union Minister.

Also encouraged the group of dancers of the US President, who presented a traditional dance to welcome him.

External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said in the X Post, β€œA warm welcome to our honored guests for the G20 Summit. General VK Singh warmly welcomed Joe Biden at the airport.
