Fugitive Nirav Moli’s extradition cleared by UK court

London, 9 Nov: A UK court has rejected the fugitive businessman Nirav Modi?s appeal against his extradition. Modi, charged with the Punjab National Bank fraud case, can now be brought back to India. He is facing a charge of money laundering for his role in a ?14,000 crore fraud.

In February this year, Westminister Court granted permission to extradite Modi. His appeal in the High Court has also been rejected.

Nirav Modi is facing enquiry into his involvement in loan cases of more than ?14,000 crore. After exposure of the fraud in 2018, Modi fled the country. He was arrested in London in 2019, and was lodged in Wandsworth jail.
