Karur, September 29: Following the major stampede in actor Vijay’s election rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman visited the area on Monday and inquired about the incident from officials. So far, 41 people have died in this stampede, while more than 100 are injured.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman visited the stampede-hit area in Velayuthampalayam, Karur today and inspected it. She also inquired about the incident from officials. Nirmala Sitharaman is also scheduled to meet the families of those killed in the stampede and those undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Union Minister will meet the families of the deceased to console them and inquire about the condition of the injured.
It is noteworthy that a stampede broke out suddenly at an election rally organized by Tamil Nadu’s Vetti Kagan leader Vijay. Forty-one people were crushed to death in a stampede during election campaigning in Velayuthampalayam, Karur district. Additionally, more than 100 people were injured. This incident has shocked the entire nation.
