Farmers’ leaders made provocative speeches, says Delhi Police Commissioner

New Delhi, 27 January: The Delhi Police will not spare rioters involved in the violence during tractor rally in different areas including the Red Fort on the day of the Republic Day, Delhi Police Commissioner SN Shrivastava said this at a press conference at Jai Singh Road at around 8 pm on Wednesday night.

He said that Satnam Singh Pannu, who was part of the farmers’ organizations, made a provocative speech. The Commissioner said that Darshan Pal Singh also refused to walk on the prescribed route.

SN Srivastava said that Rakesh Tikait’s speech also provoke farmers in Ghazipur. Farmer’s organizations unfurled religious flags in the Red Fort. He said that Buta Singh also gave provocative speeches.

It may be noted that during the tractor rally that took place on the streets of the National Capital to highlight the demands of the farmers, chaotic scenes were created due to the eruption of the violence. A large number of fierce protesters broke the barrier and reached the Red Fort and panted a religious flag on its rampart where the Tricolour of India is hoisted.
