Fadnavis demands investigation into Baramati plane crash

New Delhi, January 29: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has written to Union Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu regarding the death of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash in Baramati.

He has requested an investigation into the accident and strict measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

Earlier, the Civil Aviation Ministry said on Thursday that a team of three officials from the New Delhi-based Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) and another team of three officials from the Mumbai-based Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) reached the accident site today. AAIB Director General GVG Yugandhar also reached the site on Wednesday. The black box of the crashed plane has been recovered and the investigation is progressing rapidly. Ensuring a thorough, transparent, and timely investigation is the ministry’s top priority.

It is noteworthy that Ajit Pawar and four others died in a plane crash near Baramati airport in Pune district on Wednesday.
