Etawah: Fuel tank of IAF jet Mirage 2000 that crashed in MP, falls in UP

Etawah, 20 October: Chaos among villagers has erupted when the fuel tank of the Indian Air force’s (IAF) Mirage 2000 aircraft, which crashed in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district, fell in the fields in Radhapura village of Sahso area of Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh.

In the matter, the police have seized the wreckage of the plane and started investigation.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Brijesh Kumar Singh told that an Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter aircraft Mirage 2000 has crashed and its debris fell in the mustard field of Radhapura village under Sahaso police station in the morning after which panic spread among the villagers and one farmer also fainted. A crowd of villagers gathered on the farm and the police who reached the spot drove the crowd away.

โ€œLater it was learned that the Mirage aircraft of the IAF has crashed in Manka Bagh village of Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh and its debris has fallen here. Information has been given to the IAF in Agra regarding this. Air Force officers will reach the accident site and take them for investigation regarding the wreckage of the aircraft. Police force has been deployed in the village where the parts of aircraft fell,โ€ Singh informed.

The SSP further stated that it is being told that the pilot of the plane has already made a safe parachute landing, due to which he has survived. The video of the pilot landing by parachute is also going viral in the surrounding villages.

โ€œSHO Sunil Kumar Singh is present on the spot along with the police force and has stopped the crowd from going near the debris,โ€ SSP concluded.
