Donations pour in for UP Covid Care Funds

Lucknow, June 22: After Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath created ‘Uttar Pradesh Covid Care Fund’ in the wake of Covid-19, people have actively donated. This includes funds donated at the government level to private organizations and at the individual level. This is the reason that huge amount has been deposited in it due to donors.

Additional Chief Secretary, Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi said on Monday that a total of Rs 406.99 crore has been received so far in Uttar Pradesh Covid Care Fund. So far, 214.80 crore has been received from CM Relief Fund and Rs. 192.19 crore from Public Contribution.

He said that till now there are 1,508 patrons deposited more than one lakh funds in Uttar Pradesh Covid Care Fund.

Actually the state government is working to strengthen the health services with the help of available resorces to the needy during this disaster.

According to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the fight against the coronavirus is prolonged. Hence, this requires that the Health Department be strengthened further.

CM established the Covid Care Fund in April.

In this fund, any government or private company can contribute in the form of donations or under its corporate social responsibility (CSR). Any person or institution, committee, organization, trust, firm, business or industrial organization, NGO can assit financial support in this fund in the form of donations. MPs and MLAs can also give funds from their MP and MLA funds.

โ€œThe work of increasing the number of testing labs in the state was done through Covid Care Fund. Because of this, the number of corona test specimens that occur every day has increased considerably,โ€ Awasthi told.

The Chief Minister has directed to increase it to 25,000 by the end of this month. According to the government, in this fight of the country against Corona, this fund has proved to be very important in strengthening the health services of the state.
