Doctor suffering from depression commits suicide in UP

Gautam Buddha Nagar, September 29: A doctor living in the Bisrakh police station area of โ€‹โ€‹Ghaziabad district in Uttar Pradesh jumped from the 21st floor of his house on Monday afternoon due to mental stress, said police.

He died in the incident. Police reached the spot, took the body in custody and sent it for post-mortem.

Inspector in-charge of Bisrakh police station Manoj Kumar Singh said that Dr Shiva, son of Rakesh Kumar Sharma, 29, who lived on the 21st floor of Gaur City-2 in the Bisrakh police station area, jumped from the 21st floor of his flat on Monday afternoon due to unknown reasons. He was seriously injured in the incident. He was admitted to a private hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead.

Manoj Kumar Singh said that after receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot, took the body in custody and sent it for post-mortem. The cause of the suicide is being ascertained by speaking with the doctor’s family. They stated that the deceased had been suffering from mental depression for some days and was undergoing treatment. He was not currently associated with any hospital. He had secured a job and was scheduled to join in a few days.

The police station in-charge stated that he had not written a suicide note.
