Delhi (Jahangiripuri): Stone-pelting at Hanuman Janmotsav procession, many injured including policeman

New Delhi, 16 April: Fierce ruckus broke out between two communities in Jahangirpuri of North West district.

According to eyewitnesses, they pelted stones over a procession during Hanuman’s birth anniversary. Several people including a policeman were injured in the incident. The injured have been admitted to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital from Jahangirpuri.

In view of the seriousness of the matter, additional police forces of outer northern and outer districts have been sent to the spot. At present, senior police officers are trying to convince the people.

According to a senior police officer, local people were taking out a procession during the Hanuman Janmotsav at 6.45 pm on Saturday. In the meantime there was a commotion. The protesting people vandalized many vehicles. Police is investigating the case.
