Underlining the importance of the role of media on the issues of public awareness and awareness, Prime Minister Modi said that it was you who helped in making the call for cleanliness a nationwide campaign. Therefore, I am asking for some help from you people on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. Today, the biggest challenge and crisis is becoming ‘Artificial Intelligence’ (AI) and ‘Deep Fake’. There is a large section of India which does not have any mechanism for verification of any information or rumour. In such a situation, this ‘deep fake’ can create a big crisis for the future. This can spread the fire of discontent created under some conspiracy very quickly. The Prime Minister urged the media to educate people in this direction.

In this episode, the Prime Minister mentioned one such video of his, in which he is seen playing Garba.

He said, “I recently saw a video where I was singing Garba. Although I used to sing Garba during my school days, but after that I never got any opportunity to sing or play Garba. But recently with the help of AI and Deep Fake, a video was made and publicized. In this, my copy can be seen playing Garba exactly the same. It is a different matter if it is used for entertainment. But presenting some different things in this manner can also create resentment in the society. The problem with AI or deep fakes is that it becomes very difficult to understand what is the truth. Therefore, I have asked the media to come forward and play their role in creating awareness on this issue.

Modi also mentioned his resolve to make India a ‘developed India’ and said that this is not just words but the ground reality.
