Lucknow, December 17: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said that those who have arsonized over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), are not students rather they are unruly elements of the society. Police and district administration should be dealt with them strictly and strict action should be taken against those who take law into their hand.

He spoke to all the Commissioners, ADG, IG, DIG, District Magistrates and SSPs through video conferencing late on Monday night and said that those who are spreading rumors regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act, keep an eye on such elements and strictly tackle them and also take stiff action against them.

He also appealed to these officials to hold dialogues with religious leaders, clerics, qazis, enlightened people and respected people of various religions and told them that CAA is not against any caste, creed or religion. Those who have set arson, are not students so strict action should be taken against those who play with the law.

Muslim religion guru Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali has appealed to the people of Muslim religion to maintain peace throughout the state and ignore any kind of rumors. May our society take more and more education. Do not get into any political trouble. As far as  CAA is concerned, people of his society have filed a review petition against it in the Supreme Court. We all should wait for the decision of the Supreme Court.
