Crime (UP): UP ATS arrests 3 in Kolkata loot-murder case, hands over to WB police

Lucknow, 01 March: The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP-ATS) has arrested three persons from near Agra bus stand. The police have recovered gold biscuits worth more than five kg from them. Its cost is about two crore 80 lakh 50 thousand rupees. The three arrested killers have been handed over by the ATS to the Kolkata Police.

A UP ATS officer said on Tuesday that he had received information from Kolkata Police that three men after killing a 61-year-old and robbing 5 kg 100 grams of gold at Shivtola Street have fled towards Uttar Pradesh. After this the ATS team became active and during the investigation it was found that three wanted accused are present near the bus stand located in Fatehabad district of Agra. On this input, the ATS team laid a trap and caught the three.

The accused have been identified as Karan Verma, a resident of Vijaynagar, Ghaziabad, Sushil Kumar, a resident of Meerut and Rupkishore, a resident of Aligarh. Five gold bars of one kilogram each and one gold biscuit of 100 grams, two mobile phones have been recovered from them. UP ATS has handed over the three accused to Kolkata Police for further action.
