Crime (UP): Principal of Inter College shot dead in Gonda, one apprehended

Gonda, 04 March: The Principal of an Inter College, who had come to his maternal uncle’s house in Chhapia police station area, was shot dead at midnight on Sunday. The police, which reached on receiving the information, sent the body for post-mortem and started investigation by registering a case against the accused named on the family’s complaint, said police.

Dinesh Yadav, the principal of the Inter College running in Sishani of Babhnan town of Chhapia police station, had come to his maternal home in Chandarathi village of this police station. He was sleeping with his cousins in the verandah of the shop run by his maternal uncle. Meanwhile, late in the night, two attackers came and injured the principal by shooting him in the head while he was sleeping. This incident created panic in the family.

The family members immediately took him to the hospital for treatment, where the doctors declared him dead. In this case, Agnaram, a resident of Chandarathi village, has filed a complaint with the police and has accused two people of the same village of murder.

Superintendent of Police Vineet Jaiswal said that at 1 o’clock on Sunday night, Chhapia police station had received information about the murder of a young man. Police and senior officials raided the spot and collected information from family members while inspecting the spot. On the complaint of family members, a case has been registered against two named persons and one accused has been detained. Police are searching for the second accused.
