Crime: UP ATS arrests Pakistani handler from Gorakhpur

Lucknow, March 28: The UP Anti-Terrorists Squad (ATS) on Monday arrested Manvendra Singh Yadav carrying a reward of Rs 25 thousand from Gorakhpur. The accused used to work with his gang to send money to Pakistani handlers through hawala.

In the year 2018, the ATS had arrested the accused Arshad Naeem, Naseem Ahmed, Mukesh Prasad, Musharraf Ansari alias Nikhil Rai alias W, Sushil Rai alias Ankur Rai and Dayanand Yadav. Rs 46 lakh worth of hawala was recovered from Arshad Naeem and Naseem. Bank passbook, check book ATM and other things were found from them. After this, taking action in the month of August 2021, Dinesh Kumar Singh, who was involved in the same gang, was arrested from Gorakhpur.

During interrogation, the name of Manvendra Singh alias Manish Yadav, a resident of Gorakhpur, came to light. The passbook obtained from Musharraf Ansari, who was arrested earlier, Manish’s name appeared in the ATM.

In the investigation of which it was revealed that Manvendra used to open accounts in different banks in fake names by putting his photo and the ATMs lived with Musharraf and other associates. Musharraf used to give some money to the account holder and withdraw the remaining amount from the bank. After taking part of that money, he used to pass the rest to Pakistani handlers.

A reward of Rs 25,000 was placed against the arrested accused Manvendra by the Additional Director General of Police, UP ATS. Further action will be taken after producing the accused before the court.
