Crime: Most wanted criminal of Bihar arrested in Delhi

New Delhi, May 21: The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested a notorious criminal who carried out an AK-47 attack in Bihar. The accused has been identified as Azad Ali. One youth was killed while seven people were injured in this incident.

This attack was carried out due to the ongoing gang war between two groups in Bihar.

According to DCP Jasmeet Singh, Inspector Shivkumar of Special Cell had received information that Bihar’s notorious gangster Azad Ali was wanted in many cases. He was involved in a shootout during the Legislative Council elections. He was hiding in Delhi NCR.

On this tip off, the police team was looking for him. On May 20, the police team got information that Azad Ali would come near Ring Road at Rajghat. On this information, a joint team of Bihar’s Special Task Force and Special Cell was deployed there.

At 11 pm, the police team saw a suspicious person coming. He started running after noticing the police, but the police team managed to catch him. A single shot pistol and three live cartridges were recovered from his possession. A case has been registered in the special cell regarding this.

During interrogation, the police came to know that a shootout took place on April 4 in the Siwan Sadar police station area of โ€‹โ€‹Bihar in which he was looking for. In this incident, Azad Ali, Aftab Alam and mafia Shahabuddin’s son Osama and his associates opened fire on Mohammad Rais Khan’s vehicle with AK-47.

Five people sitting in the car and three passers-by were injured in this incident. In this, a young man named Vinod Yadav died during treatment.

The police had recovered 37 shells of bullets from the spot. The accused told the police that Aftab Alam and Mohammad Rais Khan are notorious crooks of Siwan in Bihar.

There is a rivalry going on between the two. There are daily attacks between them for supremacy in Siwan. Shahabuddin’s son Osama supports Aftab Alam. Mohammad Rais Khan also contested the Legislative Council elections in 2022. In this he was defeated.

Azad Ali, who has been arrested, has six criminal cases registered against him, including two murder cases.

Apart from this, he has also been involved in the incidents of murder, robbery, Arms Act, kidnapping etc. After the incident, he had fled to Delhi and was hiding here in different areas. He has been handed over to Bihar Police.
