The ECI said in a statement that 476 registered and unrecognised political parties have been identified in the second phase. These are from various states and union territories. Instructions have been issued to the Chief Electoral Officers of the concerned states to avoid any kind of haste and disturbance in this process. Show cause notices will be issued to these political parties. They will be given an opportunity to be heard before the concerned CEO. The registration of political parties will be cancelled on the basis of the final report of the CEO. The
The ECI has also released a state-wise list of these political parties. The highest number of these parties is 121 from Uttar Pradesh. Apart from this, there are 41 political parties from Delhi, 44 from Madhya Pradesh, 42 from Tamil Nadu and 15 from Bihar.
