Covid-19 update: A record 12,589 swab samples tested in a single day in Uttar Pradesh

3,828 active cases of corona in the state, 5,648 patients have been cured by treatment so far.

257 people died in the state so far due to infection.

Lucknow, June 05: For the first time the number of swab samples tested in the state has crossed 12,000. The highest ever 12,589 samples were tested in one day on Thursday.

Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Amit Mohan Prasad said on Friday that earlier on Wednesday, 10,563 swab samples were tested in a day. The record of more testing has been set, leaving this figure behind in twenty four hours.

In the state, 9,322 were tested on Tuesday, 9,575 on Monday and 8,642 corona samples on Sunday.

In this way the number of tested is being continuously increased. It is targeted to conduct 15,000 investigations each day by June 15.

502 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours

Principal Secretary, Health apprised that the number of active cases of corona in the state has now increased to 3,828 in 75 districts.

โ€œAt the same time, 5,648 people have been sent back to their respective homes after being cured completely,โ€ informed Prasad.  

โ€œIn the last twenty-four hours, 502 new cases of infection have been reported. Apart from this, a total of 257 deaths due to lethal virus have occurred in the state so far,โ€ told officer.

4,765 patients admitted to isolation ward

Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Amit Mohan Prasad said on Friday that there are 4,765 people currently admitted in isolation wards in the state.

Prasad further added that at the same time 8963 people are in the facility quarantine. In the facility quarantine, people who have been in contact with corona infected have been admitted. Being in the hotspot, they have symptoms or are immune to infection.

Testing of various samples through 1,203 pools

He said that on Thursday, various samples were tested through 1,203 pools. Five samples per pool were tested through 1,036 pools. At the same time, ten samples per pool were tested through 167 pools.

โ€œEarlier on Wednesday, 5,430 samples were tested through 987 pools. Five samples per pool were tested through 888 pools. Of these, 146 pools came positive,โ€ informed Prasad.

โ€œTen samples per pool were tested through 99 pools. Of these, 15 pools reported positive. Various samples were examined through 893 pools on Tuesday. Five samples per pool were tested through 798 pools. Ten samples per pool were tested through 95 pools,โ€ added officer.

Principal Secretary Health said on Monday, various samples were tested through 900 pools. Five samples per pool were tested through 785 pools. At the same time, ten samples per pool were tested through 115 pools. Various samples were tested through 958 pools on Sunday. Five samples per pool were tested through 847 pools. Of these, 100 pools were found positive.

โ€œAt the same time, ten samples per pool were tested through 111 pools. Of these, 20 pools were found positive,โ€ said officer.

60,194 people call from control room regarding Aarogya Setu app

He informed that the alerts received by those who downloaded the ‘Aarogya Setu’ app in the state, are being sent to the respective districts. At the same time, people who have come in contact with infected people through the control room, are calling and giving information about it. So far 60,194 people have been called. They have been advised to be vigilant.

ASHA workers reach homes of 12, 80,833 migrants

Principal Secretary, Health said that so far 12, 80,833 returnees have been visited by ASHA workers. Of these, 1,163 people have been found with some symptoms. They are being tested.

Health teams reach among 4.17 crore people

Principal Secretary, Health informed that the teams of Health Department are constantly reaching out and surveying people in different areas. So far 4, 17, 35,408 people from 82, 12, 55 households were surveyed by 1, 06,204 surveillance teams in a total of 14,872 areas, including 4,275 hotspots and 10,597 non-hotspot areas.

New helpline number started for ASHA, ANM, private pharmacists

He informed that with this, a new helpline number 1800 180 5146 has now been started. It is not for the general public. This is for Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, ANMs and pharmacists running private medical stores. On this number, they can give information related to the corona.

He said that if a person is buying cough, fever medicine at private medical store, then information should be provided on this number, from which it will be detected. If found suspected, his or her corona tested will be conducted. 1800 180 5145 number is already active for general public health problems.

Other family members are also getting infected if informing late about corona patient in home.

Principal Secretary Health said that there is an appeal to the people that if they have any symptoms related to corona, then they should immediately inform it and go to the government hospital. The treatment is completely free.

He said that today in the cases of Lucknow, Firozabad, Agra, Ghaziabad, it has been seen that other members of the family have also suffered from an infected person.

He informed that if a person had an infection in a house and immediately started getting treatment soon after informing about it, then other family members would not be infected. This disease is highly contagious and if people take time in disclosing symptoms, it could infect many people. Especially the elderly, pregnant women and children are at higher risk of infection.
