Lucknow, June 19: After the death of a person in hospitals in the state, the corpse will be handed over immediately to his or her family members. Till now, the relatives were not handed over the body until the Corana report is not received resulting in long wait for relatives to obtain the body.

Additional Chief Secretary Health and Family Welfare Amit Mohan Prasad said on Friday that a government order (GO) has been issued in this regard.

He said that even if the Corona report has not come, still, the family will have to maintain full vigil in the cremation. The cremation will be performed following the Covid-19 protocol.

Private labs will not be able to take more than Rs 2,500 for corona infection test

He informed that with this, the maximum amount has been earmarked for the single phase testing of coronavirus infection by private sector laboratories in the state. In this, if private labs send their person and take corona samples, then they will not be able to take more than Rs 2,500. On the other hand, if a person comes to the laboratory and gives his or her swab sample, then Rs 2,000 will be charged from him or her.

He said that so far private labs were charging up to 4,500 for corona testing, however, doing so now onwards would be a criminal offense after the issuance of GO.

He said that along with this, samples would have to be made available to the referral laboratories of the medical college if asked for quality audit of private laboratories. After filing the report on the portal of ICMR after the test, the report will be made available to the Chief Medical Officer and State Surveillance Officer of the district concerned.

โ€œNon-compliance of excess funds and other provisions will be considered as violation of the provisions of Epidemic Diseases Act 1897 and Uttar Pradesh Epidemic Covid-19 Regulations-2020,โ€ Prasad clarified.

Corona suspects to be seen at the help desk at PHC-CHC

Upon arrival of a patient with corona symptoms, he or she will be immediately taken to the help desk and screened through an infrared thermometer and pulse oximetry,โ€ said officer.
