Lucknow, January 22: 16,740 new cases of coronavirus infection have been reported within the last 24 hours in the Uttar Pradesh.
At the same time, 15,757 people have also defeated Corona in one day. In order to control the spread of pandemic, the work of vaccination is underway across the state.
State’s Additional Chief Secretary Medical and Health Amit Mohan Prasad said on Saturday that a total of 2,37,109 samples were tested in the state in a single day yesterday. There have been 16,740 new cases of corona infection. A total of 9, 76, 98,882 samples have been tested so far in the state. Yesterday, 1, 17,262 samples have been sent from different districts for RTPCR.
He said that in the last 24 hours, 15,757 people and so far 18, 13,485 people have been cured of Covid-19. There are a total of 96,642 active cases of corona in the state, out of which 94,002 people are in home isolation. Only about 1.5 percent people are hospitalized.
Prasad informed that the work of Covid immunization drive is being done continuously. A total of 22, 28,668 doses have been administered in the state on January 21, out of which 3, 36,373 doses were given to the children of 15 to 18 years of age. Till Friday, 14, 29, 87,142 people above 18 years of age were given the first dose in the state, which is 97 percent of their population. The second dose was given to 9, 42, 33,071 people above the age of 18 years, which is 63.92 percent of their population.
He informed that so far 74, 59,772 first doses of vaccine have been given to children of 15 to 18 years, which is 53.23 percent of their population. So far 7, 11,288 precaution doses have been given.
Precaution dose being given to the personnel engaged in the election
Additional Chief Secretary informed that guidelines have been given by the Government of India (GOI) regarding precaution dosage, according to which people taking precaution doses if they have recently had an infection of Covid, then they can take precaution dose after three months of recovery. Keeping the personnel engaged in the election as frontline workers, they are also being given a pre-cognition dose. Guidelines have been given by the Government of India in this regard, according to which the employees going for the election can take the precaution dose after the completion of 90 days of their second dose.
He said that everyone must get the Covid vaccination done. People who have taken their first dose must take the second dose when the time comes. The covid infection is not completely over yet.
