COVID-19: Noida Police arrest two members of Tablighi Jamaat, including two associates

Noida, April 03: Jarcha police of Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) nabbed two Tablighi Jamaat members who fled the Nizamuddin Markaz masjid of South Delhi, police informed.

Noida police have also caught two associates who provided shelter to them. However, an FIR has been filed against them, police informed.

Rajesh Kumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police, said on Friday that on Thursday, the police of the Alwar district of Rajasthan had sent an e-mail to the Jarcha police of Greater Noida informing that eight of the 13 persons of Tablighi Jamaat who fled from Nizamuddin Markaz, Delhi have been captured from a Karbala mosque of Alwar. However, five people have fled from the mosque but we successfully tracked their location through their mobile phones at Jarcha.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police informed that on the basis of the location, intensive search operation is underway to arrest five absconding members of Tablighi Jamaat.

He said that two of the five persons, Mohammad Azam son Mohammad Yusuf, resident Gauri Patty Loni Dehat Ghaziabad and Danish Khan son Saeed Ahmed, resident Mansoor Colony Satio Wali Gali near Rajo’s graveyard Saharanpur have been arrested by the Jarcha police.

Two associates who provided shelter to them have also been arrested. With this, Ghaziabad police have been informed about three absconding members of Tablighi Jamaat, DCP apprised.

Rajesh Kumar Singh said that the three absconders are residents of Loni, Ghaziabad. A case is being filed against associates who provided shelter to them. All four persons have been sent to a quarantine home for 14 days.
