Country’s 82% fresh cases of Covid-19 reported from Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu

New Delhi, 06 March: The novel coronavirus cases are once again on the rise across the country.

During the last 24 hours only 18,327 new cases have been reported. Of these, 82 percent of cases have been reported from five states. These include Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

However, Maharashtra has recorded 10,216 new cases while Kerala has recorded 2,776 new cases.

Similarly, there have been 808 new cases in Punjab. According to the Union Health Ministry, there are now 1, 80,304 active cases in the country, which is 1.61 percent of the total cases.

There are now less than 1000 cases in 21 states and union territories of the country. Of these, there are only three active cases in Arunachal Pradesh. There are 6 cases in Daman Diu, 14 in Meghalaya, 35 in Sikkim.

According to the ministry, there have been 108 deaths from Corona in the last 24 hours. Of these, 85.2 percent deaths have been reported in six states Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh. However, there have been no deaths from corona in 18 states and union territories.
