Lucknow, 13 April: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended hearty congratulations and best wishes to the people of the state on the Khalsa Creation Day at Gurdwara Naka Hindola on Saturday.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that for all of us this holy festival of Baisakhi is like the foundation day of the Khalsa Panth. It is a source of inspiration and light. Before this, the Chief Minister reached the Gurudwara and first bowed before Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

He remarked that on this day in 1699, Guru Gobind Singhji Maharaj established the Khalsa Panth as a powerhouse to protect the country and religion. With the grace of Guru Maharaj, the Khalsa Panth is carrying forward the flag of the religion in the world with great pride, without stopping, without wavering or bowing down.

The Chief Minister said that when the security of the country and religion was in danger, Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj felt the need for a social system beyond the discrimination of caste and class which could provide security and protection to the entire society. This difficult task had to be accomplished while facing the evils of that time. This became the basis for the establishment of Khalsa Panth. The foundation day of Khalsa Panth became an example for the entire society. The contribution made by Guru Gobind Singh and other Sikh Gurus for the protection of the country and religion is an important focal point of inspiration not only for that time but for the present circumstances and the future. All four sons of Guru Gobind Singh were sacrificed to protect the country and religion. Without showing any kind of sorrow, he said with great pride that what if four died, many thousands are alive.

The Chief Minister said that it is the responsibility of the Sikh brothers to celebrate the memory of the four Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj as Veer Bal Diwas. Fulfilling the decades-old demand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to celebrate December 26 as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ across the country. We all welcome this decision and also express our gratitude to the Prime Minister. This is a new inspiration for our youth that whatever contribution they make for the country and religion, the society will bow down to it in the same way. We all salute the memories of the four Sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh on Veer Bal Diwas.

The Chief Minister further said that we all know what is the cost of partition of the country. One had to face many problems to go to Kartarpur Sahib, the holy place of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The work of developing it as a corridor became possible after the arrival of the Prime Minister. This program has been started to give a new look to Kartarpur Sahib and connect people with the past and to show respect for the Guru tradition.

Yogi said that this country is always grateful for the contribution of Sikh Gurus to the country and religion. The contribution of Sikh Gurus during that period still infuses new energy in all of us. As long as we all follow the Guru tradition and move forward following his orders, we will continue to achieve new heights of success. And whenever we disregard them for our personal interests, no one will be able to save this society from collapse. We will have to work by following the Guru tradition in letter and spirit, so that not only the Sikh sect but India will be seen touching new dimensions.

The Chief Minister said that Lucknow is a place associated with many memories of Sikh Gurus. Guru Tegh Bahadur Maharaj came here and spent a few days. The blessings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji were received during the time he spent in the holy Gurudwaras of Lucknow in his childhood.
