Gorakhpur, April 6: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday inaugurated a modern computer lab at Digvijay Nath PG College, a prominent educational institution of the Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad.

At the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister stated that this computer lab will prove to be very helpful for students in promoting emerging technologies, research, and innovation.

At the event, Chief Minister Yogi praised the family’s initiative to keep alive the memories of Dr Tej Pratap Shahi, popularly known as Bachcha Babu, through the computer lab.

He said that this event was organized to pay tribute to Dr. Tej Pratap Shahi, a long-serving professor at Digvijay Nath PG College and a senior member of the Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad. This state-of-the-art computer lab, established by his sons in the college, will play a vital role in enhancing the knowledge of the students.

For this work, the Chief Minister heartily thanked the late Tej Pratap Shahi’s sons, Ananya Pratap Shahi and Atirek Shahi, and paid his humble tribute to the memory of Dr. Shahi.

During the program, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath became emotional, remembering Bachcha Babu’s immense devotion to the Gorakh Peeth.

He said that we don’t try to understand a person’s true identity while they are alive. We never met the late Hari Prasad Shahi, but we have seen his sons, including Dr Tej Pratap Shahi, working very closely. Coordination and maintaining relationships can be learned from Bachcha Babu.

Chief Minister said that Dr. Tej Pratap Shahi was the president of the Gorakhpur Congress. Congress held government at the center and in the state. Even while with the Congress party, Dr Tej Pratap Shahi was a staunch devotee of the Gorakh Peeth. He had an unwavering devotion to the values โ€‹โ€‹and ideals of the Gorakh Peeth. He was one of those who always stood by the revered Maharaj, the late Mahant Avaidyanath, and remained with him even in the most adverse circumstances.

Chief Minister, emotionally sharing an anecdote, said, “I remember one day in July 2020, I suddenly received a call from Dr. Tej Pratap Shahi. He took an appointment and came to meet me with his two sons. I told him, ‘Bacha Babu, you could have met them in Gorakhpur.’ He replied, ‘I had a feeling, so I brought my two sons to introduce you.’ After introducing them, he said, ‘Now you are their guardian.'”

Chief Minister said he was stunned and thought Bachcha Babu might be joking. However, exactly a week later, he learned that he had contracted COVID-19. Later, when his family took him to Lucknow, he had already passed away. He realized this.

Dr Tej Pratap Shahi’s family members, Ananya Shahi, Atirek Shahi, and Chandni Shahi, welcomed and greeted the Chief Minister. The vote of thanks was given by Prof. Om Prakash Singh, Principal of Digvijay Nath PG College. On this occasion,

Mayor Dr Manglesh Srivastava, BJP State Vice President and MLC D Dharmendra Singh, Nautanwa MLA Rishi Tripathi, State Women’s Commission Vice President Charu Chaudhary, former Mayor Anju Chaudhary, Mahant Ravindradas of Kalibari, members of Maharana Pratap Education Council, etc. were prominently present.
