CM Yogi shows a pic of Amit Yadav, accused in the codeine case, with SP chief Akhilesh Yadav in the House, also confirms no deaths from toxic syrup in UP

ย Lucknow, December 22: The codeine cough syrup issue resonated throughout the Assembly on Monday as soon as the House began in the morning, after the Leader of the Opposition and another member, Atul Pradhan, raised the issue, Chief Minister Yogi lashed out at the opposition.

Putting the Samajwadi Party in the dock, the Chief Minister again presented the government’s side on the issue and presented evidence of the accused in the codeine cough syrup case being associated with the Samajwadi Party.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath returned to the Assembly in the afternoon to participate in the discussion on Vande Mataram. Leader of the House and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated in the Assembly that Alok Sipahi, the kingpin in the case, is a staunch Samajwadi Party member. Showing a photo, he said that another accused, Amit Yadav, is seen in the photo with Akhilesh Yadav. Amit Yadav has been associated with the Samajwadi Party’s Yuva Jan Sabha.

Chief Minister stated that Vibhor Rana’s license was issued during the Samajwadi Party government, and that his government dismissed Alok Sipahi, who was associated with the Samajwadi Party (SP). An SIT is being formed under the leadership of the Inspector General of Police to investigate the codeine cough syrup case. The truth will be revealed.

Chief Minister informed the House that so far, raids have been conducted on 332 firms in this case, and cases have been filed against 136 firms under the NDPS Act. More than 77 people have been arrested. The entire case is being investigated under the NDPS Act, which the court has upheld. The Chief Minister stated that the government is pursuing a zero-tolerance policy in the codeine cough syrup case.

Hitting back at the Samajwadi Party, the Chief Minister said that his government will not spare the accused in the cough syrup case at any cost.

Chief Minister did not stop there and exposed the Samajwadi Party. He said that everyone knows who has connections to the mafia. The UP Police investigation revealed that Shubham Jaiswal, the kingpin of the codeine cough syrup case, had ties to the Samajwadi Party. Shubham Jaiswal and Amit Yadav are business partners and have also been linked to the Samajwadi Yuva Jan Sabha. Milind Yadav, a close associate of Shubham Jaiswal, is also involved in this nexus. Milind Yadav’s phone number is included in the GST registration under the name of Shaili Traders.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that fraudulent transactions were also made from Amit and Milind Yadav’s accounts to Shaili Traders’ accounts.

He stated that Samajwadi Party members were involved in the cough syrup diversion. He stated that he had evidence that Manoj Yadav, Rajiv Yadav, and Mukesh Yadav were involved in the illegal diversion of codeine cough syrup. Amit Yadav also traveled to Dubai in 2024.

Responding to the opposition’s uproar, he said that when action is taken against those accused associated with the Samajwadi Party, SP members will be the first to offer the Fatiha. The Samajwadi Party knows how strictly we take action against the accused.

Codeine cough syrup is not produced in Uttar Pradesh, nor have any deaths occurred

Earlier today, while responding to questions from opposition MLAs in the Assembly, the Chief Minister stated that the codeine-containing syrup being discussed is neither produced in Uttar Pradesh nor have any deaths occurred in the state due to its use. This entire matter concerns the illegal diversion, trading, and storage of the drug. The Uttar Pradesh Police, Special Task Force (STF), and the FSDA department are taking strict action in this matter. He stated that although the Central Narcotics Bureau has clarified that the cough syrup used in other states is produced in Tamil Nadu, the FSDA department in Uttar Pradesh has nevertheless tested over 1,000 cough syrup samples.

Chief Minister, while giving a detailed response, also placed the names of the main accused in the case on the floor of the House.

He said that in this case, Shubham Jaiswal, Bhola Jaiswal and Akash Pathak of Shaili Trader Pharma in Varanasi, Vibhor Rana of Abart Health Care in Saharanpur, Saurabh Tyagi, Abhishek Sharma, Vishal Upadhyay, Tapan Yadav and Shadab in Ghaziabad, besides Manohar Jaiswal of Lucknow and Imran of Bio Hub are the main kingpins of this case.

Yogi revealed the involvement of people from the Samajwadi Party in the cough syrup case and said that the state knows very well with whom the mafia has connections.
