CM Yogi reviews farmers’ plight amid unseasonal rains, directs officials to act

Lucknow, April 1: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inquired about the plight of farmers affected by Wednesday’s rain in several districts of the state. He requested reports from District Magistrates (DMs) about the problems faced by farmers due to the untimely rains.

Instructing officials to remain alert, the Chief Minister said that farmers suffering from the weather should not face any problems, and that the welfare of farmers is the government’s priority. Assess the damage to farmers’ crops, collect complete information, and provide relief to them as soon as possible.

Chief Minister Yogi directed that the Revenue, Agriculture Department, and Insurance Companies immediately conduct a joint survey of crop damage and inform the government, so that farmers can receive immediate compensation.

Chief Minister directed all District Magistrates to stay in the field to assess the situation and conduct a realistic assessment of crop damage in the affected areas, so that farmers can receive timely and appropriate assistance. The Chief Minister directed the Principal Secretary (Agriculture) and Relief Commissioner to directly contact and coordinate with field officials. All information should be collected and provided to the government in a timely manner, ensuring timely relief operations.

Chief Minister said that the compensation distribution process should begin immediately upon receipt of the crop damage assessment. Payment arrangements should be made in a timely manner so that farmers affected by the weather can receive relief as soon as possible.
