Lucknow: CM Yogi renames Tedhi Pulia as Khalsa Chowk in Alambagh

Lucknow, 19 Nov: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated Khalsa Chowk at Alambagh area in Lucknow on Sunday.

Earlier, this intersection was known as Tedhi Pulia and will now be renamed as Khalsa Chowk, according to a statement issued by the Uttar Pradesh government.

On this date, Adityanath spoke at an event commemorating Guru Gobind Singh’s Jyoti Jyot Diwas, the 10th Guru of Sikhs and founder of the Khalsa Panth.

Following the installation of the Bharatiya Janata Party administration in the state, he added, a great celebration of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 550th Prakash Parv was organized at the Chief Minister’s Office.

He stated that Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj founded the Khalsa Panth in 1699 to preserve India’s religion and culture from foreign invaders.

He went on to say that this panth has always taken the lead in preserving the homeland.

He went on to say that the sacrifice and commitment of Sikh Gurus inspires all of us to defend our nation and faith.

Adityanath stated that the history of Sikh Gurus is reminiscent of India’s magnificent epic.

He praised the Sikh community’s heritage of sacrifice, commitment, religious devotion, and societal duty. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and other politicians were also present.
