Gorakhpur, 1 July: President Draupadi Murmu on Tuesday inaugurated Uttar Pradesh’s first AYUSH University in Gorakhpur. This AYUSH University is built in Pipri of Bhathat area on an area of ββ52 acres. Rs 267.50 crore has been spent on the construction of this university. The President is on a two-day visit to Uttar Pradesh from Monday.
On the occasion of the inauguration of AYUSH University, the President said that Gorakhpur, the land of penance and meditation, is also the land of patriotism. Paying homage to the great personalities associated with the land of Gorakhpur, the President also mentioned Gita Press.
She said that on the occasion of worship in the temple yesterday, I was presented with the book Shiva Puran and Bhagavad Gita in Odia language of Gita Press. The contribution of Gita Press is very good.
She said that we are happy to inaugurate Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath Ayush University. I am happy that high level facilities have been arranged here. Here, education will be imparted from graduation to higher level in Ayush systems. Special emphasis will be laid on education related to Ayush systems, research work on traditional systems. I want to thank Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ji for this. Mentioning Athak and Nidrajit, she said that Yogis are working tirelessly and without stopping. Doctors and nurses will also have to become Athak and Nidrajit. All of you are life givers. You should introspect whether we are able to do better. India is the land of Yogis and sages.
The President said that this body is made up of water, land, sky, air and fire. We have all the facilities today. Is it right for us to use all these facilities? We are grateful to Prime Minister Modi, he promoted yoga. Today India is being praised all over the world. We say that health is wealth. For India to become a Vishwa Guru (World Leader), we have to make efforts from today itself.
The President also expressed her views on diet and lifestyle adding further “if we want to stay healthy, then we have to adopt this along with treatment. Ayurveda medicines do not have expiry date. Useful medical systems from India and abroad have been adopted by the country after 2014 and by UP after 2017 by establishing AYUSH department. The popularity of AYUSH systems is increasing. Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University will prove to be very useful in this,”.
Governor Anandi Ben Patel said that treatment will improve with the opening of AYUSH University. Along with this, farmers will also benefit. Many special plants are needed to make Ayurvedic medicines. They will be in the field itself. Chemicals will not be used in these medicines. We also have allopathy, Ayurveda and homeopathy. We have to promote our system. Promotion did not happen due to the lack of our doctors, public representatives, social workers.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that today is a very proud moment. The AYUSH University is being inaugurated by the President. We all know that before 2014, our traditional medicine should have been given a place, but it did not get it. After the Modi government came to power at the Centre, traditional systems like Yoga, Naturopathy, Ayurveda, Unani are getting a new identity. Now admission for studies in this university will begin. On this occasion, UP ministers Surya Pratap Shahi, Swatantra Dev Singh, Sanjay Nishad, Dayashankar Mishra Dayalu, MP Ravi Kishan Shukla and many public representatives were present.
