Lucknow, 01 Sept: Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, stated on Friday on ‘One Nation, One Election,’ that in a democratic setting, with stable government, rapid governance is required for progress, and ‘One Nation, One Election’ is a laudable endeavour in this regard.
“For rich democracy, political stability is really important, and in democratic set-up, with stability of government, speedy governance is needed for development,” Yogi said.
CM Yogi added. “From this point of view, ‘one nation, one election’ is a commendable attempt.”
CM expressed his thoughts on the policy, saying, “We are happy that the committee formed for ‘One Nation, One Election’ formed under the chairmanship of former president (Ram Nath Kovind). On behalf of the people of Uttar Pradesh, I want to thank Prime Minister Modi wholeheartedly for this innovative initiative.”
Yogi Adityanath emphasized the significance of the proposal, saying, “‘One Nation, One Election’ is the need of the hour and it is important as elections that have been held time and again act as an impediment in the path of development because election procedures take at least a month and a half, which obstructs the development process. As a result, it is critical that Lok Sabha elections, Assembly elections, and other types of elections take place at the same time.
This is a great initiative not only for development but also for the prosperity and stability of democracy,” remarked the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
